Isn’t it About Time for Obama to shoot his Goose?

Democrats regard southerners as hayseed, gun-toting, backwater hicks who are especially embarrassing when screaming for their favorite NASCAR driver or pledging allegiance to “one nation under God.” Let’s face it, southerners are simply not genteel or refined enough for NARAL, Democrat-sponsored D.C. cocktail parties, or the European Union. Nor are we accustomed to surrendering on the battlefield as quickly and as frequently as the French-loving Democrats. Read more…

Fear The Government That Fears Your Gun

August 19, 2008 | Politics

In West Texas, it was not uncommon to see the bumper sticker “fear the government that fears your gun” on a lot of pick-up trucks during both terms of the Clinton administration. Like the rest of the South and much of the Midwest, we were hypersensitive to the thought of having our right to keep and bear arms infringed upon in any way. August 6, 2008 | Politics

Barack Obama recently announced that if elected President, he would implement a “windfall profits tax” on oil companies to force them to “contribute a reasonable share” of their profits to American families burdened by high energy costs. The money would come to families via rebates, or “stimulus checks,” from the federal government. And while he was obviously proud of his big idea, Obama did not bother mentioning that the Democrat practice of putting socialism first, the environment second, and the American people third, is what brought us to the brink we now face over energy costs in the first place. He also remains mute on the fact that the rebates really aren’t rebates at all, and will result in higher prices at the pump once they are issued. Read more…
